Redlands Municipal Airport (KREI)
- Non-towered airport (KREI), CTAF 122.8
- One paved runway 8/26, 4,500 ft
- 20 minutes from KL35 Big Bear City Airport (6,752 ft MSL)
- Quiet pattern, great for high-workload primary training
- Part 61 training; mountain and high-altitude proximity
Why train High Altitude at Redlands
KREI is the right campus for this training, full stop. The geographic position relative to the San Bernardino mountains and to KL35 is what makes the program credible. If high-altitude or mountain work is a primary reason you came to us, train from Redlands.

Scheduling at KREI
Mountain students at KREI can fly multiple training scenarios per day because transit time to the practice area is minimal. A typical training day includes a morning briefing, a flight to KL35 with pattern work and a full-stop, a midday lunch on the field, and an afternoon return flight that exposes the student to the more challenging density-altitude conditions that develop in the heat of the day.
